Hotel bots search and compare prices across booking sites, track a rate until it drops and, in some cases, book the room in the chat. They save the tabs, not the reading: the hotel's reviews, cancellation terms and location still deserve a look on the booking site.

Each bot searched the same trip, three nights in a major city on fixed dates with a budget cap, and we compared the results with Booking.com and Hotellook directly for price and availability. We added the same hotel to price tracking and waited a week for alerts. We checked which booking sites are covered, whether the bot books or hands over to a site, what languages it speaks and whether it is run by a known company.
Hotel Robot is the search bot: name a city and your dates and it suggests a hotel that balances price and quality, with prices in several currencies, and you can ask for alternatives if the first pick does not fit. Hotelhunt and HotelTrack do one thing: watch a hotel you already chose and alert you when the rate drops, which pays off for trips booked weeks ahead with free cancellation.
Bots show the headline rate; taxes, resort fees and breakfast can appear only at checkout on the booking site. Compare the total, not the nightly price, and check the cancellation policy before tracking a price with the intention of rebooking. Prices differ by currency and country of the account, which is why two bots can show two numbers for the same room.
Hotel Robot searches hotels in any city of the world and shows prices in several currencies; Hotelhunt and HotelTrack rely on Booking.com, which may be unavailable to pay from some countries. Flights and trains have their own rating.
Hotel Robot describes itself as a bot for searching and booking hotels; trackers such as Hotelhunt and HotelBot send you to a linked page to complete the booking.
Hotelhunt and HotelTrack watch a Booking.com hotel; HotelBot, from the same small family, does the same.
Yes, search and tracking are free; the booking site or service earns a commission on the reservation.
