These bots find you someone new to talk to in Telegram: a stranger picked at random or by the preferences you set, for a private one-on-one chat that stays anonymous until you decide otherwise.

We opened each bot's page in Telegram, confirmed that it launches as a working bot and noted the monthly users Telegram shows. Then we compared how each one picks your partner (by your preferences, by a shared language or completely at random) and looked for a website, published rules and a contact for complaints. For Rand Talk we also read its open-source repository and checked when it was last updated. We have not yet held test conversations in these bots.
Bots for finding someone to talk to differ mainly in how they pick your partner. RandomMeetBot (@RandomMeetBot) and Mew Match (@findspartnerbot) are pure roulette: send /start and you are paired with whoever is looking for a chat at that moment, with no profile and no filters. Random Chatss bot (@RandomChatssBot) asks for your preferences first and matches you within them, which saves a lot of skipping if you want, say, someone from a particular part of the world to practise a language with. Rand Talk (@RandTalkBot) pairs you only with people who speak at least one of your languages and can also ask for a partner of a particular sex. The word "Dating" in Mew Match's name is not backed by dating features: there are no profiles or photos.
A bigger audience means shorter waits. Telegram shows about 25,000 monthly users for Random Chatss bot and about 22,000 each for RandomMeetBot and Mew Match. Rand Talk has no user count on its page, because Telegram shows one only for larger bots, and its public code has not changed since January 2018, so expect a smaller pool. In return it is the only bot here with open code (AGPL-3.0) and an interface in five languages, including English, Spanish, German and Italian. The other three describe themselves in English; the language you actually chat in is up to you and your partner. None of the four has a website with published rules or a contact for complaints, although Random Chatss bot at least runs its own Telegram channel.
None of these bots checks who is on the other side or how old they are. Keep your phone number, photos and other contacts to yourself, and end any chat that turns to requests for money, photos or contacts. All four bots are free.
Your name and username, plus, depending on your settings, profile photo, bio, phone number and last seen time. Before switching, open Settings → Privacy and Security and limit your number and the rest to contacts or nobody.
Meet the first time in a busy public place, get there on your own and tell someone close where you are going. Never send a new acquaintance money, documents or login codes from SMS or Telegram, whatever reason they give.
Block them from their Telegram profile and report them in the bot where you met, if it has reports, so it stops matching them with others. Keep the conversation rather than deleting it, and if you receive threats, contact the police.
