A habit tracker only works if you open it. These bots put the daily mark where you already are.

We set up three habits in each bot - a daily one, one on set weekdays and one with a custom pattern - then marked days, skipped a day on purpose and looked at what the statistics said afterwards. We checked the reminder settings, whether history can be exported, and what the free tier cuts off.
Every habit tracker stores the same data. What differs is whether you keep answering it, and the thing that keeps people answering is a visible run of days they do not want to break. A heatmap does the same job over a longer horizon. If a bot has neither, it is a checklist, and checklists get abandoned in a fortnight.
A morning stretch and an evening page of reading do not belong on the same schedule. A tracker that sets a reminder for each habit separately fits an actual day; one global notification is either ignored or resented. Look for flexible schedules too - every day, set weekdays, a few times a month - because a habit forced into a daily slot it does not fit is the first one you break.
A year of marks is a record you may want later. Prefer a bot with an export, a web version, or open source you could self-host, and be wary of anything that keeps your history only inside a chat that could stop working tomorrow.
It asks. A note waits for you to remember it; a bot sends the question at the time you chose and keeps the streak that makes you answer.
The core tracking usually is. Paid tiers tend to add exports, extra reminders per habit or automatic analysis, not the daily mark itself.
Only with a bot that offers an export or an open-source version. Check before you accumulate a year of data, not after.
