PocketAnki

PocketAnki is a spaced-repetition flashcard bot that does the tedious part for you. You send any word or phrase you ran into — from a series, a work email or a job posting — and the AI builds a card with a translation, a fill-in-the-gap sentence that shows the word in context, and pronunciation hints. The bot then brings the card back as a message you answer with one tap, at intervals that grow each time you remember it: 10 minutes, 4 days, 2 weeks, 2 months. Words you struggle with return sooner, and /calendar shows what is due and when.

The site is built around English vocabulary, but the AI handles more than 50 languages and, according to the FAQ, any language pair, so German, Polish, French or Spanish work too. The bot's menus are in English, Ukrainian and Russian. There is no app to install, no account and no deck to maintain, and if you stop answering, the bot slows down and eventually stops writing rather than guilt-tripping you about streaks.

Adding your own words and the full spaced-repetition training are free. An optional Pro mode picks daily words for your level and goal, spaces them through the day and wraps up with an evening mini-story made of those words; the site does not list its price. PocketAnki has been running since 2024 and reports more than 150,000 cards created and 700,000 reviews completed. Compared with Anki itself, the trade-off is control: you rely on the AI's translations and examples instead of writing cards by hand.
