  • Ongoing tracking with a down/up notification
  • Open-source, source code linked in the bot
  • Free, no account required

Is it UP?

Is it UP? is a small, open-source Telegram bot built specifically to answer one question fast: is this site actually down, or is it just me? Send it a URL and it makes the request itself, reporting back whether the site responded and how quickly — useful the moment before you start troubleshooting your own connection.

Beyond a one-off check, the bot can also track a URL over time and notify you the instant it detects downtime, which turns it into a lightweight personal monitor without any dashboard or account to manage. Because the project is open source (its GitHub repository is linked right in the bot's own bio), anyone can read exactly how the checks are performed or self-host a copy if they would rather not depend on a third party's hosted instance.

It is a good fit for personal projects, side hobbies or a single site you care about, where a full monitoring platform with contact groups and paid tiers would be overkill. It is not built for dozens of monitors or team alerting — for that, a dedicated service like UptimeRobot or StatusCake in this same list is a better match.

How to start

  1. Open @Is_it_UPBot and press Start
  2. Send a URL to check it immediately
  3. Use the tracking command to keep watching it and get notified on change
