Revisium PHP ScanBot targets a specific, real problem: a website owner who suspects their site has been hacked and wants to check a particular PHP or JavaScript file for injected malicious code, without wading through their entire codebase by hand. Because it is scoped to PHP/JS malware patterns rather than general-purpose antivirus signatures, it is a complement to a broader tool like Dr.Web or VirusTotal, not a replacement — use it specifically when you're auditing website source code, and use a general scanner for everyday downloads and links.
