Bismillah

Bismillah is the smallest way to put a verse into a conversation. It works inline, so you never have to leave the chat you are in: start a message with @BismillahBot, add a reference like 1:1, and pick the result. The same query works in a private chat with the bot when you want to read rather than share.

Every verse comes with three things beside the Arabic — an English translation by Imam Ahmad Raza, the exegesis of Tafsir al-Jalalayn, and an audio recitation by Shaykh Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary at 128 kbps. That combination is what separates it from a plain text bot; you can listen to the ayah and read what the classical commentary says about it without opening anything else.

The bot is free software under the GNU AGPL, and the code has been public on GitHub for years. There is no account, no paid tier and nothing to configure, which also means there is no personalisation — bookmarks and reading plans are not what this bot is for.
