These Telegram bots automatically convert voice messages into text, useful for reading messages silently in meetings, saving voice notes as searchable text, and following chats without listening to audio.

We sent each bot the same 5 voice messages: a clear 15-second recording, a noisy recording with background music, a message with a foreign accent, a long 3-minute voice note, and a message with numbers and names. We checked transcription accuracy, whether punctuation was added, how long transcription took, and how many free minutes or messages were allowed per day.
The core feature to test is automatic language detection — a bot that requires you to manually pick the language before every message is far less useful than one that detects the language on its own, especially in mixed-language chats. Also check whether it transcribes voice messages forwarded from other chats, not just ones sent directly to it, since that's how most people actually use it.
Background noise, overlapping speakers, and fast speech reliably lower accuracy across every transcription engine, not just weaker bots. Numbers, names, and technical terms are the next weak spot — read the transcript of a 3-minute voice message rather than a 10-second one, since errors compound and get harder to fix by hand the longer a recording runs.
Free tiers typically cap you by minutes per day, commonly 10–20 minutes, or by number of messages rather than by length, so a handful of long voice notes can burn the daily limit faster than many short ones. Because a transcription bot has to process the raw audio to do its job, check whether it states how long it stores your voice files — one that discards audio right after transcribing it is the safer privacy choice.
Almost none are truly unlimited — most cap you by minutes or number of messages per day, after which you wait 24 hours or pay.
Most modern bots auto-detect the language and support dozens of them, but accuracy differs from one language to another, so test a voice message in yours before relying on it.
It depends on the specific bot — check its description or privacy policy; trustworthy bots delete the audio right after processing it.
