These Telegram bots send the current weather and forecast for a city on request or on a schedule, without opening a separate weather app, and some of them can post the forecast into a group or channel.
We are still testing bots for this page. Check back soon or suggest one.
We did not compare forecasts against measured weather; the ranking rests on what can be checked in the open. For each bot we confirmed on its t.me page that it is a live bot and looked for a source on the owner's side: the weather service's own page and screenshots, an open repository and the date of its last change, or a project site with a changelog. From those we noted how far ahead the forecast goes, whether the bot sends a scheduled forecast or warnings, whether it works in groups and channels, which interface languages are confirmed and who runs it. Bots with a brand name and an empty page were left out.
Weather bots work in two ways. Some answer when you send a place: TheLair Weather (@TheLairBot) gives a 10-day forecast as text or a meteogram, and Open Weather Bot (@OpenWeatherSmartBot) shows the next 24 hours and accepts coordinates, handy for a village or a trailhead. Others come to you: Pogodnik (@pogodnik_pogoda_bot) sends a daily forecast at the hour you pick and short warnings when it expects a sharp change, and Your Weather Bot (@WeaYouBot) posts the weather daily or every 2 or 12 hours. Pick by habit: if you never open a weather app, a scheduled message is the only forecast you will read.
A morning forecast in a community chat saves everyone the same question. Pogodnik and Your Weather Bot both work in groups and channels once an admin adds them; with Your Weather Bot only admins can change the subscription, which keeps members from changing the city.
A forecast is most reliable for the next day or two and turns into a trend after that, whichever bot shows it, so read a 10-day chart for patterns rather than exact temperatures. None of these bots replaces official warnings: for storms, floods or extreme heat, follow your national weather service. Also look at who stands behind a bot. A weather site, an open repository with recent commits or a project with a changelog is a better bet than a brand-like name on an empty page, and every bot here is free, so there is no reason to settle for an anonymous one.
Pogodnik (@pogodnik_pogoda_bot) sends a daily forecast at the time you set in its settings, and Your Weather Bot (@WeaYouBot) can post daily at a specific hour or every 2 or 12 hours.
Yes. TheLair Weather (@TheLairBot) gives a detailed 10-day forecast as text or a meteogram, and Pogodnik (@pogodnik_pogoda_bot) has buttons for 7 days, 10 days and a month. Treat anything beyond a few days as a trend.
Pogodnik (@pogodnik_pogoda_bot) sends short notices about sharp changes it forecasts, such as downpours or strong wind, but no bot here relays official warnings. For those, follow your national weather service.
