How we chose
We tested each bot on the same 4 points: checking the current temperature against a second independent source at the same moment, requesting a 5-day forecast, setting up a daily automatic morning forecast, and sharing precise GPS location instead of typing a city name to see if the forecast became more local. We noted how often the data refreshed and whether severe-weather alerts were included.

How to choose a weather bot
Test with a location that has microclimates or is near a large body of water, rather than a big flat city, since that's where forecast quality between different data sources actually shows up — two bots can agree closely on a capital's temperature and disagree by several degrees on a coastal or hilly town. Also check whether the bot accepts a shared GPS location, not just a typed city name, since that alone can shift a forecast meaningfully for anyone living outside a city center.
Location precision and forecast accuracy
A forecast tied only to a city name is really describing the nearest weather station, which can be many kilometers away and noticeably off for local conditions, like rain starting on one side of a city before the other. Multi-day forecasts get less reliable the further out they go — treat anything beyond 3–4 days as a rough trend rather than a precise prediction, regardless of which bot or source it comes from.
Alerts and free limits
Look specifically for severe-weather alerts, like storms, heavy snow, or extreme heat, if that matters to you, since not every weather bot includes them even when its regular forecast is solid. Free tiers are usually generous for weather data since it's cheap to serve, but check the refresh interval on temperature and precipitation — a bot updating once every few hours can miss a fast-moving rain shower that a more frequent source would have caught.
