Plan a dinner, a hike or a game night without a poll war: create the meeting in a private chat with Mitup, share one card to the group, and friends join with a tap. Waiting lists, open invitations and reminders in each person's time zone. Free, open source, online since 2015.
Mitup solves the group-chat problem of "who is actually coming?". Instead of a poll plus a pile of replies, you create a meeting in a private chat with the bot, give it a title, a date and a place, and share a single card to your group. Friends tap to join, the list of participants updates on the card, and nobody has to add a bot to the group itself: Mitup lives in your direct messages, which keeps the group chat a group chat.
Each meeting has its own switches: a participant limit with a waiting list that fills in when someone drops out, open invitations so members can pass the card on, public sharing and more. When you start, the bot asks for your city or location to set your time zone, and reminders then reach every participant before the start in their own local time, which matters for friends spread across countries. You choose how far ahead the reminder goes, or turn it off.
Mitup is free and has no ads or trackers; it is kept running by supporters on Patreon. Free accounts can own up to 5 active meetings, schedule up to 90 days ahead and host up to 20 people per meeting, while the €5 and €10 tiers raise or remove those caps. The code is MIT-licensed on GitLab, the interface is translated into English, Spanish, German, Galician, Brazilian Portuguese and Italian, and the project says it has been online since 2015.
