OpenWeather
@OpenWeatherRealBot
FreeEN
A minimal weather bot that promises, in its own words, the weather "in any place of the World. Instantly. Free." Send a place name and read the answer. Nothing else about it is documented: no website, owner or data source.
Key features
- Global city coverage
- Instant reply, no menus
- Free, no account
What OpenWeather does
OpenWeather's whole description is one line: "Check weather in any place of the World. Instantly. Free." That is also the whole of what can be confirmed about it. The bot's page is live, but it names no developer, links no website and does not say where its data comes from; despite the name, nothing on the page ties it to the OpenWeatherMap company.
What it offers is the simplest possible interaction: send the name of a place and get the weather back. No account, subscription or payment is mentioned. Features that other bots in this list document, such as multi-day forecasts, a daily message at a set time or use in groups, are not described here, so do not count on them.
Use it as a quick one-off lookup, for example for a city you are travelling to. For anything you want every day or need to rely on, choose a bot whose owner and data source are public.
