Transcriber Bot

Transcriber Bot does the ordinary thing well and says so plainly: send it a voice message and it sends back the text. Its own profile adds a second trick that most bots in this category skip — it also pulls text out of a picture, so a photographed note and a voice note go to the same place.

What sets it apart from the small bots around it is that it is run like a project rather than a weekend script. There is a news channel with about 26 thousand subscribers where the developers post changes, and a separate support bot that forwards your message to them. In that channel they repeat the commercial promise in as many words: transcription is free and stays free. The paid tiers they added recently are sold in Telegram Stars and buy extra features — among them a new backend built on Whisper, currently in beta — not access to the basic function.

The profile publishes no language list and no length limit, so treat the first long or accented recording as the real test. And as with every cloud transcriber, the audio leaves your device to be recognised; for a confidential recording that matters more than accuracy does.
