We sent each bot the same 4 links: a YouTube video under 5 minutes, a YouTube video over 20 minutes, a TikTok clip, and an Instagram Reel. We checked which resolutions were offered, whether audio-only extraction was available, how long the download took, and whether Telegram's own 2 GB file-size limit (4 GB with Premium) caused a failure on the longer video.
Paste a link and see what happens next — a good bot asks which resolution and format you want, video with audio, video only, or audio-only MP3, before sending anything, while a weaker one just dumps a single fixed-quality file. Test with a link longer than 10 minutes, since some bots only handle short clips reliably and time out or fail silently on longer content.
Telegram itself caps file size at 2 GB for regular accounts and 4 GB with Telegram Premium, so a long video downloaded at high resolution can exceed that limit even if the bot processed it correctly — a working bot should offer a lower resolution in that case instead of failing with no explanation. For audio-only downloads, useful for podcasts or music from a video, check whether the bot preserves the original bitrate or re-encodes it at a lower one.
Downloading someone else's video for personal, offline viewing is generally treated differently from redistributing it, but the platforms themselves — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram — technically restrict downloading in their own terms of service regardless of what a bot allows. Avoid reposting downloaded content as your own, and don't rely on any bot for content you plan to monetize or publish elsewhere, since ownership and licensing questions don't disappear just because a download succeeded.
The file likely exceeds Telegram's own size limit — 2 GB for regular accounts, 4 GB with Premium; try a lower resolution or downloading audio only.
Downloading for personal viewing is rarely enforced against, but the platforms themselves prohibit it in their terms of service, and redistributing someone else's content can infringe copyright.
Yes — most bots offer an audio-extraction mode to MP3, but check the bitrate separately, since not all of them preserve the original audio quality.
