What Better Location Bot does
Everyone shares locations differently. One person sends a screenshot with coordinates, another a Waze link, a third a what3words address, and the fourth just forwards a Telegram venue. Better Location is the translator between all of them: send it whatever you got and it returns one point rendered as links to the map service you actually use.
The list of things it understands is unusually long — WGS84, USNG, MGRS and UTM coordinates, geocaching GC codes, Plus Codes, what3words, links from Google Maps, Waze, OpenStreetMap, Foursquare, Wikipedia and Sygic, shortened URLs, Telegram locations and venues, and EXIF data from a photo you forward. The reply offers Google Maps, Waze, OpenStreetMap, HERE, Mapy.cz and DuckDuckGo, so the person on the other side opens it in whatever app they have.
It works inline, which is the part that matters in a group: type the bot's name in any chat and the converted location goes out from your account, no need to add the bot anywhere. Frequently used points can be kept with /favourites, and the whole thing is free, with the source code public on GitHub.
