What Oh Dear does
Oh Dear is a website monitoring service started in 2018 by developer Freek Van der Herten and sysadmin Mattias Geniar. Beyond plain uptime it checks SSL certificates, broken links across a whole site, scheduled tasks, DNS records, domain expiry, Lighthouse and performance scores, and it can publish status pages. Its selling point is that every plan includes every feature; plans differ only in how many sites and servers you monitor.
Telegram is one of more than ten notification channels, and Oh Dear's documentation names @OhDearAppBot as the bot to use. Open the Telegram channel settings at team or site level, invite the bot to your chat, paste the start command Oh Dear generates, then choose the events that should reach Telegram and save. The Send test tab sends a test notification so you can confirm it works before something breaks.
There is no free plan. Freelance covers 10 sites and servers for €49 a month, Studio 25 for €99 and Agency 50 for €149, with two months free on yearly billing. Every plan starts with a 10-day trial without a credit card, which is enough to see whether the alerts are worth the price.
