Das German Bot

@dasgermanbot is a German tutor that lives in a Telegram chat. The exercise it is built around is spoken: you record a voice message in German, and the AI replies with corrections to your grammar and pronunciation and keeps the conversation going. Around that, the chat also serves vocabulary and grammar exercises, so it is not voice-only — but speaking is what sets it apart from word-list bots.

Setup takes a few seconds: tap Start, tell the bot your current level (complete beginners are expected too), and the exercises begin — no account, no password. The difficulty moves with you, getting harder as you improve, and the developers pitch five minutes a day as enough, with a streak counter to keep the habit going.

The money side is only partly clear. The website says it is free to start and offers a free trial; the page's own markup describes the offer as five free corrections followed by lifetime access, while the terms of service speak of a paid subscription after the trial. No price is shown anywhere, so you find out what it costs inside the bot. The terms also warn that the AI can make mistakes — fair for any AI tutor, and a reason to treat its corrections as a helper rather than a teacher.
