Polyglossia Network

@polyglossia_bot doesn't teach anything itself. It is the entry point to Polyglossia Network, a network of Telegram group chats for practising languages in an informal setting, and the bot that helps run those chats. When the network introduced itself on Tumblr in 2017 it had chats for more than 50 languages — beginner and advanced groups, voice chats and game chats — plus resource channels and chats about language learning and linguistics, kept in order by volunteer admins from different countries.

Pressing Start brings a welcome that sets expectations plainly: this isn't a class, the admins aren't teachers, and it isn't a dating service. A short version of the rules follows — no spam or ads, be respectful, speak only the target language in advanced groups — with the full terms to download and an "I accept" button. After that the bot lists the groups and lets you request a new chat, apply to become an admin or suggest improvements. Inside the groups it works as a helper: /dashboard shows information about the current group and the network, /topic and /newtopic handle conversation topics, /resources links the resource channel, /alert calls the admins, and a few light commands send a cat, a dog or the time in a random place.

What can't be checked from outside is how busy the chats are today. Every public description of the network dates from 2017–2018, the old invite links reveal nothing, and no member counts are published. The bot itself still answers, according to botostore's check. Nothing in the rules or descriptions mentions a fee.
